Overseas stars dominate the marquee list with explosive all-rounders and proven finishers poised to ignite bids. Nadine de Klerk from South Africa brings pace and lower-order hitting, complementing her pre-auction teammates across squads. New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, a T20 veteran known for match-winning cameos, joins Australian duo Beth Mooney, a clinical opener with multiple T20 titles, and left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux, whose variations could thrive in the 100-ball format. India’s Deepti Sharma rounds out the international contingent, offering spin guile and handy batting that has lit up global leagues.
England’s Dani Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Amy Jones, Tammy Beaumont, and Davina Perrin represent domestic excellence in the marquee set. Gibson’s seam movement, Glenn’s leg-spin wizardry, and Jones’s glovework anchor the home flavour, while Beaumont’s elegant opening and Perrin’s flamboyant promise add depth. These nominations, submitted by the eight franchises, kick off the live-streamed auction after each team’s pre-signings, like Ellyse Perry for Birmingham Phoenix and Smriti Mandhana for Manchester Super Giants.
Four IPL-backed teams enter rebranded: MI London (ex-Oval Invincibles, two-time winners 2021-22), Manchester Super Giants (ex-Manchester Originals), Sunrisers Leeds (ex-Northern Superchargers, 2025 champions), and Delhi Capitals-owned Southern Brave (2023 winners). London Spirit (2024 champs), Birmingham Phoenix, Trent Rockets, and Welsh Fire complete the lineup, with reserve days for the Eliminator and Final.
Eyes will be on bidding for Pakistan’s longlist duo Fatima Sana and Sadia Iqbal amid scrutiny on IPL-linked teams, following no Pakistani appearances in prior women’s seasons. Notably, keeper-batter Muneeba Ali and pacer Diana Baig also registered for the auction, but the long list sees only 2 off four Pakistan players, while only 3 Indians off 17 have made the cut.
