Batting first, Oman posted a massive 219 for 1 in their 20 overs, powered by a brilliant century from Jayadhanyha Gunasekar and a strong supporting contribution from Javed Hina. In reply, Denmark struggled to cope with both the target and Oman’s disciplined attack, finishing at 81 for 9, as the home side secured a dominant victory to lead the four-match series 3–0.

From the moment they won the toss and elected to bat, Oman Women were in control. The openers laid the foundation for what would become a formidable total, but it was the performance of Jayadhanyha Gunasekar that stole the show. Gunasekar was unstoppable, blasting an unbeaten 101 off just 62 deliveries with 11 fours and one six, at a strike rate of nearly 163. Her century was constructed with aggression and precision, undermining Denmark’s bowling plans and forcing constant defensive adjustments.

Supporting her was Javed Hina, who made a striking 60 not out off 34 balls at a blistering strike rate of 176.47. Hina’s innings added a second dimension to the onslaught, punishing any loose deliveries and ensuring Denmark had no respite. Together, the pair put on an unbroken stand of 113 runs, sending the Oman total into uncharted territory for the match. Extras also played their part, contributing 30 runs to the total, with Denmark conceding a steady stream of wides and no-balls under pressure.

For Denmark, the bowling figures were tough on the eye. Camilla Madsen bore the brunt, finishing with figures of 0/49 from four overs, while Line Ostergaard conceded 37 off her four overs. Neither bowler was able to consistently find an effective plan, and Oman capitalised on that immediately.

Chasing a target beyond 10 runs per over from the start, Denmark Women’s reply never gained traction. They lost Anne Ostergaard without scoring in the second over, and although Sarah Hojholt offered some resistance with a quick-tempo 14 off 13, regular dismissals kept the scoreboard under constant pressure. Tine Erichsen added 10, and Kiaya Pandya contributed a battling 10, but none of the Danish batters could stay at the crease long enough to take on the massive, required rate.

Denmark’s innings was further disrupted by a series of runouts and economical bowling from Oman. Priyanka Mendonca and Kushi Egodagamage were particularly effective, picking up two and one wickets respectively, while keeping things tight and forcing batters into risky shots. Jayadhanyha Gunasekar also chipped in with a crucial late bowling wicket, showing her all-round value to the Oman lineup.

Fielding was another area where Oman excelled. Their catching was sharp and ground fielding saved crucial runs throughout Denmark’s innings. The discipline shown in the field ensured that Denmark did not gain any momentum, and Oman’s bowlers could maintain pressure from good positions rather than relying on scattered batting efforts.

Denmark finished at 81 for 9 after 20 overs, with occasional resistance from the lower order but never enough to threaten the target. Line Ostergaard held firm to top-score for the visitors with 17 not out, while Anne-Sofie Slebsager and Camilla Madsen made minor contributions of 2 and 8 respectively.

Oman’s emphatic win by 138 runs highlighted both their batting depth and bowling control. Posting 219 for 1 is a monumental score in women’s T20 cricket, and to then dismiss a side for barely above 80 showed complete dominance.
