In the 7th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 edition, Delhi Capitals will take on the UP Warriorz at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Delhi Capitals haven’t had the start they expected in this season as they have lost both their opening fixtures. They lost against Mumbai Indians in their opening fixture by a convincing margin of 50 runs, but in the match against Gujarat Giants, they almost pulled off a massive chase but ended up falling short by just 4 runs. Here are the top 3 players to look out for in Delhi Capitals:

Laura Wolvaardt
Laura Wolvaardt, the South African skipper, has been in phenomenal batting touch with some excellent knocks in both international and franchise cricket. In her T20I career, she scored 2225 runs from 79 innings at a strike rate of 118. In her WPL career, she has scored 428 runs from 15 innings at a strike rate of 136. In her most recent match against Gujarat Giants, she scored 77 runs off just 38 balls at a strike rate of 202. Wolvaardt could assist Jemimah Rodrigues in uplifting the batting confidence of the unit, and they could probably start their journey to seal their spot in the playoffs.
Lizelle Lee
Lizelle Lee, the South African international, played for the national side from 2013-2022 in all three formats. In her T20I career, she scored 1896 runs from 82 innings at a strike rate of 110. She made her debut in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) for Delhi Capitals, and she has scored 96 runs from 2 innings at a strike rate of 150. Lizelle Lee took a stunning catch the other day against Mumbai Indians to dismiss their star batter, Amelia Kerr. Delhi will be looking forward to the consistency of Lee, as she could provide a foundation to their innings.
Nandni Sharma
Nandni Sharma, the young Indian pacer, represents Chandigarh on the domestic circuit, and she also represented North Zone. She was bought at the auction for INR 20 lakh by DC and made her debut against Mumbai Indians. Nandni Sharma took a five-fer against Gujarat Giants, which also included the 4th hat-trick in the WPL’s history. She is only the second Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in the WPL. Delhi will be looking forward to the young pacer to contribute towards the depth of Delhi Capitals’ bowling unit.
