Nida Dar feels confident for England series after WBBL stint

Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) experience has given Nida Dar confidence before the England series in Malaysia.

Dar, who became the first Pakistan women cricketer to play in a foreign league, had to cut her WBBL stint short for national duties.

Pakistan all-rounder Nida Dar is confident after playing in Women’s Big Bash League 2019. Dar played for Sydney Thunder in WBBL season 5 and became the first Pakistan female cricketer to do so.

As reported by pcb.com.pk, Dar said that it was a great experience of being part of WBBL and she is keen to share her experiences with her teammates and captain Bismah Maroof. “The first and foremost thing is that we need to learn how to adjust to the changing conditions in the match”, she tells.

Pakistan and England will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in Malaysia as part of the tour. Winning the ODI series may earn Pakistan direct qualification to the Women’s World Cup in 2021.

Pakistan have never won against England in ODIs but Nida is positive about this tour. She feels that there isn’t much difference between the two sides and that the battle will be more of a mental one. They have also worked on their fitness and fielding and the presence of new faces will ensure that it’ll be difficult for England to prepare against them.

Nida played for Sydney Thunder in this year’s WBBL and took 13 wickets from 11 matches. The off-spinner has a bowling average of 16.92 in the tournament.

Pakistan will miss the experience of Sana Mir in the series as she has decided to take a break from the game. Pakistan will take on England on December 9 when they play their first ODI match of the tour in Malaysia.
