Linsey Smith has established herself as a reliable left-arm spinner for England, known for her accuracy, control, and ability to apply pressure in the middle overs. Born in Hillingdon, she progressed through Berkshire until 2016, then represented Southern Vipers, before moving to Sussex, where she continues to play. She has also been a central figure for Northern Diamonds and a consistent performer for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred since 2021.

Linsey Smith’s Breakthrough Season

Smith made her England ODI debut on 30 May 2025 against West Indies and delivered a dream start, taking 5/36 to become only the second England woman to claim a five-wicket haul on debut. In just 4 ODIs, she has already taken 10 wickets, quickly proving her effectiveness as a wicket-taking option.

At 29, Smith enters her maiden World Cup as a dependable spin option, her left-arm orthodox bowling offering balance to England’s attack alongside pace and leg spin.
