WEST INDIES

The west Indies currently ranked number 4 made their World Cup debut in 1993 in England. The team was led by Anne Browne. The windies finished sixth in the points table and won 2/7 matches. West Indies women finished 9th in the 1997 world cup hosted in India and were eliminated before even reaching the water finals. They did not participate in the 2000 world cup. They then appeared in the 2005 world cup, and finished 5th with 2/7 wins. They again finished 5th in the 2009 world cup. For the next world cup, the 2013 world cup the windies finished 3rd and Stefanie Taylor was the 2nd highest runscorer(309).

SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa did not participate in the world cup from 1973-1993. They reached the quarterfinals in the 1997 world cup, with 3/5 wins and Denise Reid making the record for best strike rate (14.3). South Africa reached the semi finals in the 2000 women’s world cup with 4/7 wins. South Africa finished 7th place in the 2005 world cup with 1/7 wins and Criz-Zelada Brits being the 4th highest runscorer with 306 runs. They finished 7th again in the 2009 women’s world cup with zero wins in the tournament. They finished 5th place in the 2013 world cup and won only one amongst their 3 matches played.

ENGLAND

England women's past cricket world cup perfoamances

Currently captained by Heather Knight, England Is ranked 2nd in the ICC International ranking. England hosted the first ever World cup in 1973 and even ended up winning the first title. Enid Blakewell, Lynne Thomas, Rachael heyhoe Flint were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd run scorer. And Mary pilling was the highest wicket-taker (9). England were the runner ups in the 2nd edition of the world cup, the 1978 world cup, 2/3 wins. Lynne Thomas was the 3rd highest run scorer (109) and Glynis Hullah was the 4th highest wicket-taker(5). They again finished 2nd in the 3rd edition of the world cup, the 1982 world cup. Jan Brittin had the most runs in the tournament (391) and Avril Starling was the 5th highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets. England finished 2nd for the second time in a row in the 1988 Women’s Cricket World Cup.

All-rounder Carole Hodges won the player of the series award. She was the 4th highest run-scorer (336)and was also the 3rd highest wicket-taker (12). England again hosted the 5th edition of the World cup, the 1993 Women’s Cricket World Cup which they again won. Jan Brittin had the most runs (416) and Karen Smithies had the most wickets (15). The English finished 5th in the 2000 World Cup with 3/7 wins. Claire Taylor was the second highest wicket-taker (14). England finished 4th for the 2005 World Cup with Charlotte Edwards being the highest run-scorer(280). England went on to win their 3rd World Cup title, the 2009 World Cup. Claire Taylor was the player of the series and also had the most runs (324) and Laura Marsh had the most wickets (16). Skipper Charlotte Edwards was named the captain of the first ever ICC World Cup named long with Claire Taylor, Sarah Taylor and Laura Marsh being named in the squad. They finished 3rd in the 2013 world cup, Charlotte Edwards was the 3rd leading run scorer (292) and and Anya Shrubosole was the 2nd highest wicket-taker (13).

SRI LANKA

Sri Lanka women's past world cup perfoamances

Sri Lanka reached the quarterfinals of their first ever World Cup, where Suthershini Sivanantham took four wickets in an innings and Thanuga Ekanayakehad the most ducks. Sri Lanka finished sixth in the 2000 and 2005 Women’s cricket world cup. Followed by 5th place in the 2013 Women’s Cricket World cup where Deepika Rasangika was the 4th highest runscorer (236).

Looking at the World Cup statistics of the eight teams Australia, England and New Zealand stand the most chance to win the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Considering how India remained unbeaten in the Qualifiers and West Indies being the Champions in the recent 20 over format World cup, these two teams stand a great chance to claim the title too.
