Ellyse Perry achieves another milestone, becomes first player to cross 2500 runs in WBBL

Ellyse Perry has been labeled as one of the best Australian sportswomen of all time, and rightly so. Her accomplishments speak for themselves. She’s a great player and has once again proved the same.

On Friday, 15th November, Australian star cricketer, Ellyse Perry became the first player to cross 2500 runs in the Women’s Big Bash League. She took 69 innings to achieve this amazing feat. Ellyse is followed by fellow Australian, Beth Mooney who is just 226 runs behind, with 2274 runs in 67 innings.

Interestingly, Perry is the first cricketer – male or female to be achieving this feat. In BBL, she’s followed by Michael Klinger who has 1947 runs to his name in 71 innings. There are a lot of factors that have led to this, but between the runs scored by these two players, there still is a huge difference.

Ellyse has several other records to her name, some of which have been made in this very season of WBBL, including a record partnership with Alyssa Healy – they stitched a 199-run opening stand, surpassing the previous set record partnership of 161 runs. She also made the news earlier this week for smashing a six out of the park that hit an ambulance’s windscreen parked near the stadium.
