Match 139: Baroda vs Himachal
Venue: Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Cricket Ground, Mulapadu

Baroda won the toss and decided to bat first. They didn’t have the start they would have wanted as they lost opener Palak Patel on a duck in the first over. After that Jenita Fernandes and Yastika Bhatia steadied the innings. Fernandes made 24 runs facing 25 balls while Bhatia was run-out by Renuka Singh when she was on 16(19). Renuka had earlier dismissed the two opening batters as well. Tanvir Shaikh, down the order, contributed 12 runs to the team’s score. Baroda finished on 82/7. Apart from Renuka, Sushmita Kumari also scalped 2 wickets.

It was a combined effort from Baroda’s bowling line-up as they ripped through Himachal in the 2nd innings. Only Kashish Verma and Neena Chaudhary could form a decent partnership at the top. Verma made 17 off 22 while Chaudhary contributed 27 runs to the team’s score. But in the end, it was Baroda’s bowling which took over. Tanvir Shaikh, Shalini Sharma, and Jaya Mohite helped Himachal bundle on 72 runs as they shared 6 wickets among themselves. Himachal were bowled out in the 3rd ball of the last over handing a 10-run victory to Baroda.
