Hat-trick wins sees Samoa clinch the Pacific-France Women Championship

A four-team Quadrangular series, coined as the Pacific France Women Championship, was hosted by France from 10th March 2025 (Monday) to 14th March 2025 (Friday). Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, and host France participated in the competition. Samoa had a losing start to their season but went on to register back-to-back wins to advance to the Final and eventually claimed the championship.

France bows out winless

Louise Wahmowe-led side had a forgettable campaign as they were unable to get a victory under their belt and were the only team to remain winless in the tournament. They lost to Fiji in the 3rd place play-off in a double super over contest. Fiona Cagnewa was the leading run-scorer for her side with 46 runs at an average of 15.33 in three innings with the bat for her side in the tournament. Skipper Louise Wahmowe was the leading wicket-taker for her side and the joint 2nd highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 9 wickets at an impressive average of 9.22 in four innings with the ball for her side in the tournament. She has joined the likes of Jacinta Sanele from Samoa, in the wicket-taking charts.

Fiji registers back-to-back wins

Ilisapeci Waqavakatoga-led side had a decent campaign as they won two games, both of them coming against the hosts, France, including the 3rd-place play-off which they clinched in a double super over. Melaia Biu was the leading run-scorer for their side and the 5th highest run-scorer of the tournament with 63 runs at an impressive average of 21 in four innings. Skipper Ilisapeci Waqavakatoga was the leading wicket-taker for her side as far as the bowling department is concerned. Her returns of 5 wickets at an average of 11.80 and an economy of 4.91 in four innings also placed her as the joint 5th highest wicket-taker of the tournament alongside the likes of Nasimana Navaika from Vanuatu.

Vanuatu wins three but lost the Final

The Selina Solman-led side had an impressive campaign as they won three out of their four games in the tournament. They made it to the final, however, they ended up as the runners-up of the tournament against Samoa courtesy of their 9-wicket defeat in the final. Skipper Selina Solman topped the run-scoring charts in the tournament with 111 runs at a strike rate of 93.27 and a sensational average of 55.50 in four innings, which included one unbeaten half-century in the tournament for her side. She also led from the front with the ball for her side as she picked up 8 wickets at an average of 5.62 and an economy of 3.75 in four innings including a historic four-wicket haul in their campaign. Her impressive returns placed her as the 4th highest wicket-taker of the competition.

Clinical Samoa bags four wins

The Tuaoloa Semau-led side scripted a sensational turn-around after their 8-run defeat against Vanuatu in the first game of the series. They not only clinched a hat-trick of victories but also went on to be crowned as the champions of the series in the process courtesy of a thumping 9-wicket win against Vanuatu in the final. Taalili Losefo was the leading run-scorer for her side and the 2nd highest run-scorer of the competition with 85 runs at a strike rate of 92.39 and a sensational average of 42.50 in four innings with the bat, including one unbeaten half-century 60. As far as the bowling department is concerned, Olive Lefaga topped the wicket-taking charts in the competition with 10 wickets at an average of 5.30 and an economy of 3.53 in four innings with the ball for her side, playing an instrumental role in helping her side clinch the Quadrangular series title in France.
