History: Prime Minister Cup Women’s Cricket

First held in 2015, the Prime Minister Cup initially featured 10 teams, including nine regional sides and one departmental team. The format evolved over the years, transitioning to teams representing the five development regions and eventually settling on a provincial model in 2020 with eight teams. The format was altered in 2023-24 to a round-robin competition. Nepal A.P.F. Club has dominated the tournament, winning six titles and entering this season as defending champions.
