Blockbuster finish from Nadine de Klerk and Jemimah Rodrigues powers Heat to 175/6

Adelaide Strikers skipper Tahlia McGrath won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat, the Brisbane Heat openers, wicket-keeper batter Georgia Redmayne and Grace Harris, got their side off to a solid start with a 38-run opening partnership.

Jemma Barsby picked up the wicket of Grace Harris to provide the first breakthrough for Adelaide Strikers. Wicket-keeper batter Georgia Redmayne soon followed her back to the pavilion, providing the second breakthrough for the Strikers. Skipper Jess Jonassen joined Jemimah Rodrigues at the crease, and the duo stitched a much-needed 54-run partnership for the third wicket to take their side past the 100-run mark.

Chasing a target of 176, the Strikers got off to a horrible start as they lost their top three inside the first four overs of the run chase. Wicket-keeper batter Bridget Patterson joined skipper Tahlia McGrath at the crease, and the duo stitched a much-needed 38-run partnership for the fourth wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark.

Nadine de Klerk picked up the big wicket of opposition skipper Tahlia McGrath, providing the fourth breakthrough for Brisbane Heat. Madeline Penna joined wicket-keeper batter Bridget Patterson at the crease, and the duo stitched an unbeaten 113-run fifth-wicket partnership, but unfortunately, they failed to get their side over the line. The Strikers eventually fell 8 runs short of the target.
