He highlighted the contribution of the Times Cricket Shield to India cricket, saying that he feels a women’s cricket tournament is the need of the hour.

Tendulkar urged people to support India’s women cricketers who have brought laurels to the country. He also requested the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), the Times Group and other corporates to conduct similar tournaments for female cricketers.

“Our women’s cricket team has really done us proud. But there is no tournament for them. I would put in a request to you all. We should support women’s cricket”, said Sachin Tendulkar as reported by Times Now News.
