India has had four T20I campaigns leading up to the 2024 World Cup. They started with a 1-2 loss to Australia on home soil but bounced back with a clean sweep over Bangladesh in a five-match series. They then drew their home series against South Africa after coming back from 0-1 down. Most recently, India’s unbeaten four-match run in the Asia Cup ended with a defeat to Sri Lanka in the final. With back-to-back wins in the warm-up games, India has kicked off their campaign on the right foot.

New Zealand, on the other hand, faced England in 10 T20Is this year, losing 1-4 at home and 0-5 in the away series. They also suffered a 3-match series sweep against Australia in September. However, they put their poor form behind them, registering a commanding win in their first warm-up game, although they lost the second to England.

Head-to-head, New Zealand leads comfortably with nine wins from 13 T20Is against India. Despite their strong record, the teams have only played two matches since 2020, with each side winning one, pointing toward a potentially close contest.
