A resilient show from the lower-order in vain as Australia A eventually emerged victorious in the one-off red-ball encounter at the Kerrydale Oval, Gold Coast.

Chasing a target of 289, India A were in a commanding position at 106/3 in the 44th over in the run chase. However, the visitors gifted away the advantage as they found themselves in trouble at 149/6 in 68 overs at the end of the 3rd day’s play.

The overnight duo of Raghvi Bist and wicket-keeper batter Uma Chetry walked out onto the park oozing with self-belief, and an intent to take their side over the line. The visitors were still 140 runs away from a famous win on the final day’s play at the Kerryday Oval, Gold Coast. The pair displayed a remarkable amount of grit, determination and resilience to form a solid 79-run partnership for the 7th wicket, taking their side past the 200-run mark.

Tess Flintoff landed a massive blow as she struck twice in the 83rd over of the run chase to send both the well-set batters back to the pavilion in quick succession. Mannat Kashyap soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 9th breakthrough for Australia A. Priya Mishra joined Sayali Satghare at the crease and the duo continued to fight with a 24-run partnership for the 10th wicket to bring the runs required to under 50.

Skipper Charli Knott wrapped up the innings as she picked up the wicket of Sayali Satghare to seal a convincing 45-run victory for her side against India A in the one-off red-ball encounter at the Kerrydale Oval, Gold Coast. Wicket-keeper batter Uma Chetry (47 off 80 balls), Shubha Satheesh (45 off 98 balls), Priya Punia (36 off 108 balls), Raghvi Bist (26 off 102 balls), Shweta Sehrawat (21 off 49 balls), and Sayali Satghare (21 off 36 balls) were the top performers with the bat for India A.

Skipper Charli Knott (17.5-4-34-3), Tess Flintoff (16-5-39-3), Grace Parsons (17-2-37-2), Lilly Mills (12-3-25-1), and Maitlan Brown (13-3-29-1) were the top performers with the ball for Australia A.
