It was the maiden final for both London Spirit and Welsh Fire in the Women’s Hundred. London Spirit hosted the final of the fourth edition of the Women’s Hundred and were crowned champions after beating Welsh Fire in a nail-biting finish, successfully chasing down the target of 116. Heather Knight-led London Spirit elected to field first in the final, and they got off to a promising start, dismissing both Welsh Fire openers inside the first six sets. Welsh Fire managed to post a fighting total of 115, courtesy of a fifty from Jess Jonassen. London Spirit chased down the target with two balls to spare, winning their maiden Women’s Hundred title by four wickets.

Georgia Redmayne 34 (London Spirit):

Georgia Redmayne was the top scorer for her side, in a chase of 116. She scored 34 off 32 balls, playing a crucial role in London Spirit’s title triumph. The left-handed batter hit three boundaries during her innings, which ensured London Spirit’s four-wicket victory over Welsh Fire in the final. For her composed knock, she was awarded the Player of the Match.

Jess Jonassen 54 (Welsh Fire):

Jess Jonassen’s stabilizing knock helped Welsh Fire put up a fighting total of 115. The left-handed batter came in when Welsh Fire was struggling at 32 for 3. Upon her arrival at the crease, she built a 54-run partnership with Hayley Matthews. It was Jonassen’s first fifty in the fourth edition of the Women’s Hundred, and it came at a crucial time. She scored 54 off 41 balls, including eight boundaries.

Sarah Glenn 2/17 (London Spirit):

London Spirit’s leg-spinner Sarah Glenn claimed two crucial wickets against Welsh Fire in the final. Her first wicket was that of the Fire’s skipper Tammy Beaumont, who was dismissed for 21. Later, she dismissed Sarah Bryce for a two-ball duck, finishing with figures of 2/17, ending the tournament on a high note.

Shabnim Ismail 3/24 (Welsh Fire):

Shabnim Ismail led the bowling attack for Welsh Fire as they defended a total of 115. She struck the first blow for Welsh Fire by dismissing Meg Lanning in the third set for 4, knocking over her stumps. Later in her spell, she dismissed London Spirit’s skipper Heather Knight for 24(18), sending her stumps flying, and then took her third wicket by bowling out Danielle Gibson for 22 (9). All three of Ismail’s wickets came from knocking over the stumps and she finished with figures of 3/24, keeping the Welsh Fire in the contest throughout.

Deepti Sharma 1/23 & 16 (London Spirit):

Deepti Sharma held her nerve to guide London Spirit to a thrilling win over the Welsh Fire in the Women’s Hundred final. Earlier with the ball, she dismissed Georgia Elwiss in the nineteenth set, finishing with figures of 1/23. Later with the bat, Deepti played a crucial cameo, scoring 16 off 16 balls, including the winning runs—a six over long-on in the last set—to steal the victory for London Spirit.
