Initially, with the bat, Amy Jones came in when the hosts were restricted to 29 for 2. Jones didn’t receive much support from the other end as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. However, Jones took center stage, smashing 51 off 36 balls. The right-handed batter hit eight boundaries in her innings. She was the top scorer for her side, whose innings also helped Birmingham to put up a total of 137.

Later, behind the stumps, Amy Jones grabbed a record-breaking six catches. It was the first-ever time in the Women’s Hundred that a wicketkeeper had taken more than two catches in an innings. For her outstanding contributions both as a batter and wicketkeeper, she received the Player of the Match award as Birmingham Phoenix won by 16 runs, making it two consecutive wins in the ongoing edition of The Hundred.
