The eleventh match of the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup was played between Bangladesh and Malaysia. Bangladesh came into the match after beating Thailand, while Malaysia lost their last match against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh registered a potential spot in the semi-final after beating Malaysia by 114 runs.

Murshida Khatun 80 (Bangladesh)

The Bangladesh opener struck her second consecutive fifty in the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. The left-handed batter scored 80 off 59 balls in her innings. She was involved in two 50+ partnerships: a 65-run stand with Dilara Akhter and a 94-run partnership for the second wicket with skipper Nigar Sultan. Murshida’s innings helped Bangladesh put up a total of 191, their highest total in the Women’s Asia Cup.

Nigar Sultana 62* (Bangladesh)

The Bangladesh skipper continued her consistent run in the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. Coming into bat at number three, the right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 62 off 37 balls, smashing five boundaries and two sixes at an explosive strike rate of 167.56. She took control of the innings with her aggressive approach.

Mahira Ismail 1/35 (Malaysia)

Out of the two wickets Malaysia claimed during Bangladesh’s innings, one was taken by Mahira Ismail. The off-spinner provided the first breakthrough for Malaysia by dismissing Dilara Akter for 33. She is Malaysia’s leading wicket-taker with five wickets in three matches. With the bat, she added 15 runs to the tally batting in the middle order.
