In a clash between the arch rivals of the Women’s Cricket Super League, Western Storm came out victorious by defeating Southern Vipers, for the second time in their three league final encounters. Carrying the responsibility of taking Western Storm to the finish line on their shoulders were, Heather Knight and Deepti Sharma.

Chasing a massive total of 173 looked effortless for Western Storm with Knight and Deepti on their side. Former bagged player of the match for her outstanding 78 runs knock while the later, again not out, played a small yet important role as she hit 39 runs in 22 balls, which included 7 boundaries.

Though the Vipers came into the finals by crashing Loughborough Lightning with the help of Suzie Bates excellent performance both with the bat and the ball (37 and 3-22) and helping her was her opening partner, Danielle Wyatt. The duo continued their form in the finals as well, as they put an opening stand of 65 runs, though Suzie couldn’t capitalize her innings, Wyatt made sure that they put a fighting total on the board, hitting 10 fours and two sixes.

Both the teams played good, but with the performance of Knight and Deepti, the Western Storm took an edge over Southern Vipers and came out as the Ultimate Champions.
