Hollie Armitage is a batting all-rounder who made her international debut on March 24, 2024, against England during the England women’s tour of New Zealand, where she was unable to showcase her batting attributes.
Armitage made her county debut in 2013 for Yorkshire against Surrey, where she showcased her all-round class with the bat and ball, scoring 25 runs and taking 3 wickets from 1.4 overs. In 2016, she was Yorkshire’s leading run-scorer in the county championship, with 153 runs and two half-centuries. She also took 7 wickets at an average of 12.85. In 2017, she was again the top run-scorer for Yorkshire with 192 runs, including 3 half-centuries. Later, she became the full-time captain of the Yorkshire team in 2019, where she scored 165 runs. In 2021, she was the leading run-scorer as well as the leading wicket-taker from her team, with 184 runs and 5 wickets in the T20 Women’s Cup. Again, she became the leading run-scorer in the 2022 Women’s T20 Cup with 214 runs, including two half-centuries.
Armitage also represented Yorkshire Diamonds in the Women’s Cricket Super League in 2016, 2017, and 2019. After that, she was signed by the Sydney Sixers for the 2019 Women’s Big Bash League in the middle of the season as a replacement for Ellyse Perry. Later, she also played for Tasmania in the WNCL. In 2020, she joined Northern Diamonds and also led the side as a captain, resulting in her making it to the final of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in their first season. She was also the leading run-scorer in the next season. She represented Northern Superchargers in The Hundred. Then, she also became the leading run-scorer for the team in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, with 151 runs. In December 2023, Armitage signed for Central Districts for the 2023-24 Super Smash.
She has not gotten many chances to showcase her batting and bowling skills at the international level, as she recently made her debut. However, Armitage will eventually get more opportunities to perform and make a reliable place in the England women’s team. She represented Northern Diamonds, Northern Superchargers Women, and Yorkshire Women in domestic leagues.
