Bio:

Emma Lamb’s spike in development over the last couple of years exemplifies how the inception of regional cricket has positively impacted the women’s game in England. Since regional cricket started in 2020, Lamb has debuted across all three formats of international cricket, beginning with T20 cricket in September 2021. She made her senior debut in the Women’s County Championship in 2012 against Warwickshire, and the following year scored her maiden County Championship century, carrying her bat for 113 not out as Lancashire posted 320 to thrash Durham by 161 runs.

She made her ODI debut in Melbourne during the Ashes series before going on to play once in the 50-over World Cup, which followed immediately in New Zealand. Her main contributions for England have come in ODI cricket, where she has scored one century and two fifties in 11 matches, in addition to taking three wickets as of 2024. Lamb can be both classical and destructive with the bat in hand. She also plays for the Emirates Old Trafford-based Manchester Originals in The Hundred. Emma was among the first group of regional contracted players for Thunder in 2020 before earning her maiden England central contract in late 2022.

She made her Test debut against South Africa at Taunton, scoring 38 runs while opening the batting. Unfortunately, she encountered challenges in late 2023 and early 2024, having to undergo back surgery. She was pulled out of England’s squad for a December Test match in India and returned home for treatment.
