Young female students of various educational institutions in Islamabad, federal capital of Pakistan are demanding separate sports ground and health fitness clubs for real promotion of female sports activities.
According to the students, many girls and females are interested in sports but they are unable to fulfil their desire due to the absence of separate sporting place for women.
Nimra Kiani, a student of Federal Government College, said, “I started indoor training session for cricket learning to fulfil my dream of becoming a cricketer but I cannot start practice as mostly playgrounds are allocated only for males.”
“I want to make my career in sports but I can’t do so in case of having combined playgrounds,” she added.
She further added, “Authorities concerned should set up playgrounds for us in each sector where we could easily play different sports.”
Another student, Haleema Siddique, said, “Many girls like me want to become a cricketer but it is impossible without facilities like sports clubs and playgrounds.”
“We can’t go to other cities for club cricket so we need sports facilities here in Islamabad to make our career,” she added.
