The Uganda Women’s Cricket team, also known as Victoria Pearls have unveiled their squad for the upcoming Global Qualifiers in Abu Dhabi, set to run from April 25th to May 7th.

The sixth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier is poised to unfold in Abu Dhabi during April and May. Ten teams will vie for victory, grouped into two divisions of five each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the ultimate contenders securing qualification for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup. Matches are scheduled daily, with two fixtures slated for 04:30 and 08:30 IST. The qualifier kicks off on April 25th, culminating in the showdown on May 7th.

The Victoria Pearls will be contending for the World Cup slot at the qualifiers, where they are in Group A alongside Sri Lanka, the United States, Thailand, and Scotland. Hosts UAE, Ireland, the Netherlands, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe comprise Group B.

The team will depart from Uganda on April 19th, embarking on their journey towards the Global Qualifiers. Ahead of the group stage matches commencing on April 25th, they are scheduled to engage in two warm-up encounters against Vanuatu and the UAE.

Uganda will encounter a novel experience as they step onto the field under floodlights for the first time, facing off against Scotland and Thailand. Meanwhile, their clashes against the USA and Sri Lanka will unfold during daylight hours. This journey represents not just a quest for victory, but also a voyage of firsts and challenges, where each game holds the promise of growth and accomplishment.
