After their win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore last night, the Delhi Capitals have officially booked their playoff berth for the second season in succession. They became the second team to qualify for the playoffs after Mumbai Indians. After losing the match against Delhi Capitals what is the qualification scenario for RCB to qualify for WPL Playoffs?
The qualification for the remaining three teams still remains a possibility post last match’s result.
Gujarat Giants are currently last in the points table with only 1 victory, with 2 games still remaining they can finish with a maximum of only 6 points. Their fate does not remain in their own hands as in order for them to qualify, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz need to lose their next game.
The UP Warriorz are placed 4th in the points table and have 3 victories so far. With one game left, they can finish with a maximum of 8 points. For them to qualify RCB needs to lose their next game, if RCB goes on to win their next game then it will come down to the Net Run Rate calculations, and currently, RCB’s NRR is superior to the UP Warriorz.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have to win their next game to remain with a chance to qualify and it will still come down to NRR with the UP Warriorz. If they win their next game and the UP Warriorz lose their next game, RCB will go through.

UPW qualification scenario in WPL 2024
If UPW wins against GG & RCB should lose against MI
If UPW wins against GG & RCB wins against MI. NRR will be deciding
If UPW lost against GG & RCB lost against MI.NRR will be deciding

RCB fans shouldn't lose heart
If they win against MI, they are through
But even if they lose and UPW lose against DC, RCB will still qualify due to a better NRR
This year, the WPL will go down to the wire 🔥#WPL2024
