Delhi Capitals survive a spirited effort from Richa Ghosh to book a spot in the playoffs beating RCB by 1 Run

The Delhi Capitals led by skipper Meg Lanning suffered a heart-breaking one-run defeat against UP Warriorz, RCB led by skipper Smriti Mandhana also suffered a 19-run defeat against Gujarat Giants.

The head-to-head record (3-0) between these two teams is heavily stacked in favour of the Delhi Capitals. The Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bat first. Capitals got off to a good start, as openers Shafali Verma and skipper Meg Lanning put together a 54-run opening partnership. Sobhana Asha dismissed Shafali Verma to provide the first breakthrough for RCB.

Jemimah Rodrigues joined skipper Meg Lanning at the crease and the duo failed to stitch a substantial partnership as they lost the wicket of skipper Meg Lanning. Shreyanka Patil provided a massive breakthrough for her side. Alice Capsey joined Jemimah Rodrigues at the crease and the duo stitched a massive 97-run partnership for the 3rd wicket before Shreyanka Patil came back and picked up the wicket of Jemimah Rodrigues to provide the much-needed breakthrough for RCB.

Marizanne Kapp joined Alice Capsey at the crease and the duo stitched a 19-run partnership for the 4th wicket before Shreyanka Patil cleaned up Alice Capsey to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side. Delhi Capitals ended up with a total of 181/5 in their quota of overs. Jemimah Rodrigues (58 off 36 balls), Alice Capsey (48 off 32 balls), skipper Meg Lanning (29 off 26 balls), and Shafali Verma (23 off 18 balls) were the top performers with the bat for RCB.

Shreyanka Patil (4-0-26-4) and Asha Sobhana (4-0-29-1) were the top performers with the ball for RCB. Chasing a challenging total of 182, RCB sprung up a surprise by promoting Sophie Molineux to open the innings alongside skipper Smriti Mandhana. They got off to a poor start, losing their skipper Smriti Mandhana in the 2nd over of the run chase. Alice Capsey provided a massive breakthrough for the Delhi Capitals. Ellyse Perry joined Sophie Molineux at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 80-run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Ellyse Perry was found short of her crease to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Delhi Capitals.

Sophie Molineux followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 3rd breakthrough for the Capitals. Wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh joined Sophie Devine at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 49-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Marizanne Kapp picked up the big wicket of Sophie Devine to provide the fourth breakthrough for her side.

Georgia Wareham joined wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh at the crease, and the duo stitched a 23-run partnership for the 5th wicket before Shikha Pandey picked up the wicket of Georgia Wareham to provide the 5th breakthrough for Delhi Capitals. RCB was eventually restricted to 180/7 in their quota of overs as they fell agonisingly short of the target by one run. Wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh (51 off 29 balls), Ellyse Perry (49 off 32 balls), Sophie Devine (26 off 16 balls), and Sophie Molineux (33 off 30 balls) were the top performers with the bat for RCB.

Marizanne Kapp (4-0-30-1), Shikha Pandey (4-0-34-1), Arundhati Reddy (3-0-24-1), and Alice Capsey (1-0-5-1) were the top performers with the ball for Delhi Capitals. Jemimah Rodrigues was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant performance (58 off 36 balls) with the bat, playing a crucial role in helping the Delhi Capitals post a challenging total on the board.
