Players to watch out:
Humaaira Kaazi
The 30-year-old all-rounder was picked by the Mumbai Indians in the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction but didn’t have much to offer for the team. Nonetheless, Kaazi was brilliant to watch last season as she notched up 133 runs from 6 innings, while also picking up a fifer in her only bowling outing. Kaazi has come under the spotlight following the WPL and it’ll be intriguing to see how she goes about her business this season.
Simran Shaikh
The 21-year-old all-rounder found a home with the UP Warriorz’ at the WPL but failed to make the most of her opportunities. Simran had a notable run in the senior T20 season last year, scoring 128 runs from 6 innings, including an impressive 89, and in the Interzonal trophy, she chipped in with 71 runs from 6 games, and for her finishing skills will be one to be watched out for.
Disha Kasat
The 26-year-old all-rounder in the previous edition of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy averaged 60.00 and racked up 300 runs from 8 outings. However, Disha failed to replicate the success in the Interzonals, accumulating only 58 runs from 5 innings, followed by a forgetful season with the RCB in the inaugural WPL edition. Disha will want to start fresh, eyeing another good domestic season.
Komal Zanzad
The 32-year-old left-arm pacer excelled in the competition last edition, scalping 10 wickets from 8 innings. Komal made it to the RCB playing XI only once, returning figures of 0/22 (2) in her debut game. Komal is an experienced campaigner and will be looking to leave her mark this summer following an upsetting WPL campaign.
