Barbados Royals, under Hayley Matthews’ captaincy, have registered successive wins, while the Guyana Amazon Warriors, having lost their opener, will want to secure their first set of two points on the board, and who better to do that against than the Royals.

Squads:

Guyana Amazon Warriors – Stafanie Taylor (C), Suzie Bates, Shemaine Campbelle, Sophie Devine, Cherry-Ann Fraser, Shabika Gajnabi, Sheneta Grimmond, Shabnim Ismail, Djenaba Joseph, Natasha McLean, Ashmini Munisar, Shreyanka Patil, Karishma Ramharack, Kaysia Schultz, Shakera Selman

Barbados Royals – Hayley Matthews (C), Aaliyah Alleyne, Jahzara Claxton, Afy Fletcher, Jannillea Glasgow, Laura Harris, Chinelle Henry, Trishan Holder, Qiana Joseph, Erin Burns, Gaby Lewis, Chedean Nation, Vanessa Watts, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Rashada Williams

Players to watch out:

Suzie Bates

The 35-year-old all-rounder in Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket has amassed 3953 runs and has been handy with the ball, contributing 56 wickets. Suzie struggled to find her form in The Hundred (Women’s) but managed a couple of good scores towards the end. In the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), she has had some sort of a start with a score of 23 and will be aiming to convert these starts into big knocks.

Shreyanka Patil

The 21-year-old all-rounder is the first and only Indian to have ever featured in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL). This opportunity comes on the back of her leaving a lasting impression in the Women’s Premier League, where she scored 62 runs and took 6 wickets in 7 games. Additionally, she scalped 9 wickets in 2 Emerging Teams Asia Cup outings. Shreyanka hasn’t had the desired start to her WCPL campaign, conceding 21 runs in 2 overs, but rest assured, she’ll bounce back.

Gaby Lewis

The 22-year-old opening batter, in 74 T20I outings, has scored 1658 runs at a strike rate of 113.40 and has registered her best of 105* in the format. Gaby has carried on her form from the series against the Netherlands to the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), recording scores of 47 and 27. This will be Gaby’s moment to seize, as a strong finish here could open doors for opportunities in various other franchise competitions.

Chinelle Henry

The 28-year-old all-rounder in T20Is, in 39 innings, has accumulated 359 runs and taken 14 wickets in 28 outings. Chinelle has had the perfect start to her campaign, building on the confidence she gained during the home Ireland series. She registered bowling figures of 0/11 (2) and 0/8 (2) and remained unbeaten on 10 in both outings.

Pitch:

The slow-natured center wicket at Kensington Oval, Barbados, poses a challenge for batters to score with ease, and the modest average score of 108 at this venue attests to this fact. Bowlers, particularly spinners, play a crucial role in dictating the game’s outcome.

Weather:

Despite mostly cloudy skies, the chances of rain remain minimal, and the conditions promise a complete game of cricket. The temperature is expected to hover around 29°C, with moderate winds and humidity at 72%.
