The swashbuckling Indian teenager, Richa Ghosh has been selected by London Spirit to represent them in The Hundred 2023. Richa Ghosh, a 19-year-old Wicket-keeping batter has been named as a replacement for injured Australian cricketer Georgia Redmayne. Richa Ghosh will be the 3rd Indian player selected in The Hundred 2023 after Smriti Mandhana (Southern Brave) and Harmanpreet Kaur (Trent Rockets).
Richa Ghosh is a player who is known for her hard power hitting, who can also send the ball hard down the ground with rather ease.
Richa Ghosh won the inaugural U-19 women’s world cup this year scoring 93 runs from 4 innings with a healthy strike rate of 127.40. She was also picked up by RCB in the inaugural season of WPL. Even though the season was quite underwhelming for RCB, Richa Ghosh showed quite a promise in a few of the games she played.

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday morning (13th July 2023) announced the same. Richa Ghosh is all set to earn £12,500 (13 Lakhs INR approximately). She will be hoping for a good outing in the tournament so that she can make a comeback in India’s national team.
In London Spirit, she will be led by none other than Heather Knight who is currently leading the English women in the ongoing Women’s Ashes series. Ghosh will also play with fellow international stars like Amelia Kerr, Tara Norris, Grace Harris, and Charlie Dean.

Heather Knight was also her teammate in the RCB squad, they both would like to move from the memories of a disastrous season of RCB and hope this time round they help their new team, London Spirit to claim the title.
It will be really interesting to see how Heather Knight uses Richa, given she was dropped from the Indian National Team, she would also be quite low on confidence. Given the talent Richa possesses, she could easily return to her best form in very few matches.
A fully focused and raring-to-go Richa can easily destroy any bowling lineup on its day.
