The Captain of Mumbai Indians Women

Harmanpreet Kaur proved her worth by being a great captain. She is a 34-year-old batter. Her health condition to play for the WPL tournament was perfect, declared by the health doctor.

She has been in service as a cricketer since 2009 and has become a superstar of the game since then. Harman was born in Moga, Punjab. She admired Virender Sehwag while growing up. She is an all-rounder – batting, bowling, fielding, and even captains the team. She is the foundation of the Indian middle-order and her strong personality has influenced the team positively. Her contribution once led India to the final after 12 years in history. This year as a Captain of Mumbai Indians  IPL 2023, she led all the members in the right direction.

Runs in the first season of WPL

Harmanpreet Kaur performs great as a batter. She scored a total of 281 runs in the WPL. Her highest score in an individual match was 65. She gave the team 44 boundaries. Which makes her 2nd in the rank as a player of Mumbai Indians. Though it was proved before that Harmanpreet Kaur is capable of hitting big sixes, in this tournament the number was not as expected. She gave the team only 3 sixes. She was bought by the champion team for 1.8 crore rupees. A very thoughtful decision by the Team members during the auction.

Harmanpreets’s wish was to achieve something big while she is the captain. Harmanpreet talks about the last final match and she said “Both the runouts were quite disappointing. I was confident in the last match (India versus Australia) because we had so many wickets in hand. I thought we would be able to do it,”.

She also mentioned “But the scenario was a lot different here, we had Nat in the middle and she was well settled. I knew who was going to bowl and how. We were quite positive to finish the game with one or two overs left. But when I got out we thought we had to go by the situation”.

But overall the captain shares that it’s a dream come to, a celebration moment.
