Schedule for 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier Announced

The 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier is scheduled to be played in two Divisions in May/June and September 2023. The tournament is an expanded qualification pathway toward the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, and the hosting rights for the tournament are awarded to Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) and Cricket Espana (Spain).

The first phase of the tournament will feature women’s national squads from France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Turkey, and hosts Jersey in Division 2 which will be played from the 29th of May till the 2nd of June. The top two teams from the 6-team, division 2 tournament, will advance to Division 1, that’ll be played in Spain in September 2023.

While France and Germany made their maiden appearance in the previous edition of the European qualifiers, it will be in the forthcoming expanded version of the European region qualification pathway that national sides from Sweden, Jersey, Turkey, and Italy will make their debut in an ICC qualification pathway event.

Division 2:

The tournament will be played in the round-robin format and will have a total of 15 games played.

Table toppers from Division 2 will join Scotland and Netherlands in Division 1, and the top two teams from the September, Spain tournament, will advance to the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier along with other regional qualifiers.
