2022 continues to spring surprises and the list of top 5 run-getters certainly will be quite an eye-opener with interesting names making headway. Let’s get started!

The 19-year-old youngster is making the right noises and literally is scoring runs for fun. Raking up 696 runs at an average of 53.53 and striking at 93.17, she is certainly one to watch out for. Having scored five 50s, she has hit a remarkable 79 fours and has remained not out on twelve occasions. Her unbelievable 92* vs Kuwait is certainly a knock to remember.

Her 158* vs Bahrain earlier this year was a monstrous knock where she broke records, left, right and centre. Esha Oza now owns the highest score by a UAE international player in limited-overs cricket, as well as the fastest player to reach 1000 T20I runs in 31 WT20Is. She can certainly be earmarked as a player to watch out for and this year with her two 50s and two 100s sprinkled with 83 boundaries and 20 maximums, she just gave us a glimpse of her unbridled potential.

The 18-year-old, Theertha Satish can do no wrong as 2022 continues to be a glorious year for the youngster. Playing the role of a wicketkeeper batter, she is a crucial cog in UAE’s prospects. Scoring 658 runs at 111.52 and averaging a healthy 34.63, Satish has scored five 50s and has hit 77 boundaries as well. Having been selected to lead the UAE U19 side ahead of the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup, she will be looking to extend the good run of performances and bring glory to UAE.

The stylish left-hand batter of Team India has had another year to remember. Scoring 594 runs at an average of 33, she struck at 133.48. Registering five scores of 50 while scoring 89 boundaries and 13 maximums, she looked at her fluent best. Her 79* versus England helped India level the series and win that crucial 2nd T20I. India would be hoping she can carry on the momentum to other important tournaments, bilateral series and the elusive ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as well!

The dynamic opening partner of Smriti Mandhana, next on the list is the 18-year-old Shafali Verma. Having scored 544 runs in 23 innings, she averages 23.65 but struck at 125.63 and delivered those strong starts that India needed. Scoring two 50s, she struck 68 boundaries and 15 maximums showing her finesse and oozing class. She will also be leading India in the upcoming ICC Women’s U19 World Cup and having her on the team will benefit the youngsters in the squad. India will be looking to have their young star deliver on the biggest stage and help lay hands on the elusive trophy and other major tournaments at the senior level as well.
