On the other hand, Bangladesh who registered their first-ever ODI World Cup win in their last match against Pakistan would look to get another one to their name.

Touring India for an ODI series 1st time, then Skipper Salma Khatun led her team to a defendable total of 194 after her unbeaten knock of 75 (82). However, Harmanpreet’s unbeaten knock of 63 along with Anagha Deshpande’s 47 gave India 5 wickets win with 4 balls to spare.

100 balls 103 from Harmanpreet Kaur and crucial 80 from Punam Raut top of the order took India’s total to 256/6. Chasing a big target, Rumana Ahmed’s lone knock of 75 wasn’t enough for Bangladesh as they fell 46 runs short of the victory.

  1.  3rd ODI, Bangladesh Women tour of India (April 12)

Despite being restricted at 154 after Rumana Ahmed’s 4 wicket haul conceding 20 runs (1 maiden), the Indian bowlers made it a tough chase for Bangladesh who was bowled out 4 short of 100 with Poonam Yadav taking 3 wickets giving away 15 runs (2 maidens) in her 10 overs.

Competing for a place in the 2017 ODI World Cup, India got the better of Bangladesh after a brilliant unbeaten partnership for the 2nd wicket between opener Mona Meshram (78*) and Skipper Mithali Raj (73*), winning comfortably by 9 wickets with 99 balls to spare.
