Playing their debut ODI World Cup, West Indies were bowled out for 120 by the 1993 World Cup host with 4 of the 6 bowlers taking 2 wickets each. Though the Windies bowlers gave their best to defend the total, taking 6 wickets, England went on to achieve the target with 4 wickets and 83 balls to spare.

  1. 2009 ICC Women’s World Cup (March 17)

50+ scores by both the openers- Sarah Taylor and Caroline Atkins as well as No. 3 batter Claire Taylor guided England to a good total of 236 for 8 in their 50 overs that was followed by a great performance by the team’s bowling unit with every bowler getting a wicket to her name- a 3 wicket hauls for Laura Marsh while a wicket each for the other 5.

  1. 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup (February 5)

A 4-wicket haul for Anya Shrubsole in a spell that included 3 maidens, giving 21 runs from 8.4 overs and a fantastic 2 overs, both wicket maidens Arran Brindle (3 wickets) saw West Indies tumbled down for 101 with just 5 of the 11 batters opening their run account. The chase though saw World Boss Deandra Dottin taking 3 wickets in her 5 overs but that did not restrict England to achieve the target comfortably with 6 wickets and 90 balls to spare.

  1. 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup (July 15)

A captain’s knock of 67 with the bat and a key wicket of World Boss Deandra Dottin with the ball by Heather Knight helped England beat West Indies by 92 runs. Defending the target of 221, Nat Sciver led England’s bowling unit with an impressive figure of 3 wickets conceding 3 runs and 1 maiden from her 4 overs. For West Indies, the top performer was Afy Fletcher for her 3-wicket haul with the ball while 29 runs by Hayley Matthews was the highest individual score among the batters.
