Molly Strano was adjudged the Player Of The Match for her impressive all-around performance. Batting first Australia managed to score 261 runs in their 50-overs. Phoebe Litchfield top-scored with 54 runs of 78 deliveries. Elyse Villani, Grace Harris, and Heather Graham got off to decent starts but couldn’t convert them into big runs.

Captain Georgia Redmayne had a bad day at the office, trapped LBW by Tash Farrant on a golden duck. Erin Burns too returned to the pavilion without troubling the scoreboard.

Contributions from Molly Strano and Heather Graham enabled Australia A to reach a respectable total. Tess Flintoff stole valuable runs in the end, she scored 18 not out of just 9 deliveries including the only six of Australia’s innings.

Sarah Glenn was the pick of the bowlers for England A, she claimed 3 wickets in her 8 overs conceding 52 runs in the process.

England A women’s top order failed to make an impact. Captain Eve Jones scored just 5 runs of 12 balls and her partner Emma Lamb scored 8 of 10 deliveries. Georgia Elwiss and Alice Davidson-Richards steadied the visitor’s ship in the middle.

Georgia scored a patient 50 off 73 deliveries while Alice scored 72 off 86 deliveries, her inning was packed with 9 fours and one six. An unfortunate run-out brought an end to Alice’s inning.

In the end, the effort by the English middle-order batters wasn’t enough to take their side to victory. England A Women were all out for 219 runs of 46.1 overs.

All seven Australian bowlers contributed to the wickets tally, except for Grace Harris. However, she executed the Alice Davidson- Richards run-out. Overall a satisfying victory for Australia’s A Women.
