The seventh season of WBBL (Women’s Big Bash League) will kick start from October 14 and with all eyes on the Australian domestic T20 league, it is believed that the Indian players, who will be Down Under during that time will be the most sought after ones.
The eight franchises will have a closer look at the Indians, who will play three ODIs, one pink-ball Test, and three T20Is in September-October this year. Since they would have already done their 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Australia, it makes it a lot easier for the teams to sign them. Another big reason why Indians are in demand is that England’s tour of Pakistan is clashing with the WBBL.

According to cricket.com.au, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Poonam Yadav could also be in demand for their services in WBBL.
Some of the Indian players who can get a chance to be a part of the WBBL this year are:
Smriti Mandhana:
The stylish left-hand bat has been one of the prolific Indian batters over the years. With an experience of 78 T20Is, she is an established player in the shortest format of the game. The southpaw has mustered 1782 runs, including a dozen half-centuries in 76 innings at a strike rate of 120.16. She was signed by Brisbane Heat in 2016.
Harmanpreet Kaur:
India’s T20I skipper is an attacking right-hand bat and more than a handy right-arm-off spinner. She has played over 100 T20Is scoring 2186 runs, which includes one century. She also has 29 wickets to her name. She’s a path-breaker too, having become the first India cricketer – male or female – to sign a Big Bash League contract with Sydney Thunder.
Deepti Sharma:
The 23-year old is one of India’s best all-rounders in the present time. The left-hand bat and right arm-off spinner is a complete package as she can contribute with the bat, ball as well as on the field. She has played over 50 T20Is and has scored 433 runs and scalped 54 wickets.
Jemimah Rodrigues:
The 20-year old right-hand bat from Mumbai has the reputation of hitting the ball cleanly. She has the experience of 47 T20Is, in which she has scored 976 runs, including six half-centuries. She has a healthy strike rate of 111.16.
Sneh Rana:
The 27-year old is enjoying her comeback to international cricket after five long years. She has been one of the best performers in the ongoing England series as she has contributed with both bat and ball. She is a right-hand bat and right-arm-off spinner.
Poonam Yadav:
The loopy leg spinner can entice any batter in her trap. She was the second leading wicket-taker in the ICC T20 World Cup that was played last year in Australia. With 10 wickets in five games, she played an instrumental role in India’s journey to the World Cup finals.
