Female Cricket Podcasts clocks 5000 Hits, Played in 11 Countries around the World

When the world came to a standstill because of the COVID-19 induced lockdown, it affected each and every sector, be it education, business, or sports. What it could not deter is the super enthusiastic platform that strives to provide all the updates on women’s cricket.

Female Cricket is a household name in the world of women’s cricket. Despite no cricketing action since the World T20 final that was played on March 8 this year between India and Australia at the iconic MCG which hosted a record crowd of 86,174, the platform continued to offer information about the women cricketers through its various initiatives like Female Cricket Podcast, The Pioneers, among many. The main aim of these initiatives was to unravel the interesting stories of the former and current players, which would not only encourage young girls to take up cricket as a career but also inspire them to serve their country.

Instead of getting bogged down by this unprecedented event, Vishal Yadav, Founder & CEO of Female Cricket converted it into an opportunity. He got in touch with a number of cricketers who have represented or are still playing for India, to know about their journey. The interviews served as a good dose of motivation for many young and budding female cricketers.

In this article, we will look at some of the feats achieved by the Female Cricket Podcast. In the series, there were 10 episodes. Players like Jhulan Goswami, Rumeli Dhar, Taniya Bhatia, Poonam Yadav, Deepti Sharma, Mithali Raj, Harleen Deol, Radha Yadav, Mansi Joshi, Anuja Patil, were some of them, who were interviewed by Vishal in the most candid way possible. The stories were very relatable and had an immense amount of value in it.

All the podcasts were very intriguing and kept the audience engaged for longer periods of time. People from as many as 11 countries streamed the podcast. Out of the total listeners, 47% were females, of which 34% were between the age group of 18 and 22 years. This clearly indicates that a good number of young girls tuned in to the podcast, which meant that the purpose of the initiative was fulfilled to a large extent.

The most popular of the 17 episodes was that of Jhulan Goswami, who has been a torchbearer of Indian women’s cricket. The episode garnered 1213 streams of the total 4939 streams received by the Female Cricket Podcast.

 

The podcasts were made available via the major platforms including Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Apple Podcast. It was very received by the audience.

The fans have shown a keen interest to have another series with more insights from the cricketer’s journey. Stay Tuned.
