My name is Fariba Heidari and I am a national cricket player from Iran.
I live in a small city located in the south of Iran and it’s been 9 years since I started playing cricket.
Cricket in Iran is still an unknown sport and also there is no sports shop in Iran that sells cricket equipment so we have to buy cricket gears from outside Iran.
Therefore it becomes really difficult for cricketers like me to pursue our love for cricket.
But there’s something that brings hope to us and it is the Iran Cricket Board, who plans to open cricket centers in every city of Iran.
I play cricket in South of Iran where the air temperature sometimes goes above 50°C.
We girls play with Hijab on our head and that doesn’t stop us from playing cricket in such extreme weather.
