Players to watch out for
Renata de Sousa:
Brazil’s captain was the pick of the bowlers in her previous outing against Argentina. She picked up 2-1 in her two overs, including one maiden over.
The right arm off spinner supported her skipper well in the match against Argentina as she accounted for 2-3 in her two overs, including one maiden over.
The right hand opening bat top scored with 23 runs off 30 balls, hitting three boundaries. She looked good with the bat and was there in the middle till the 10th over.
The right hand top order bat scored an unbeaten 22 off 38 balls. She came in to bat in the sixth over of the match when Canada was struggling at 1-12. She was there till the end and helped her team post 70-9 in 20 overs.
Rain is expected in the latter half of the match. Through the course of the match, there is a 51% chance of precipitation with 90% cloud cover in the afternoon (CST) and 57% chance of precipitation with 100% cloud cover in the evening (CST). The temperature will drop from 24 degrees Celsius in the afternoon (CST) to 16 degrees Celsius in the evening (CST). The weather is likely to be cloudy with possible thunderstorms and showers.
Toss will play an important role since Canada have won their only match batting first, while Brazil have won their only match batting second. The wicket is good for cricket. So far, in this tournament teams batting second have been more successful. The pitch has aided the seamers more than the spinners.
