England led by skipper Kate Cross sealed a comfortable 4-wicket victory in the 1st ODI. Skipper Kate Cross led from the front and was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational all-round performance. She returned with exceptional match figures (9.5-0-30-6) in her spell with the ball. Apart from her exploits with the ball, she also made a handy contribution (38* off 36 balls) with the bat.

England skipper Kate Cross won the toss and opted to bat first in the 2nd ODI at the Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast. The England openers Tammy Beaumont and Emma Lamb got their side off to a good start with a 42-run opening partnership. Emma Lamb was found short of her crease to provide the first breakthrough for Ireland.

Hollie Armitage joined Tammy Beaumont at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 44-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take their side close to the 100-run mark. Freya Sargent picked up the wicket of Hollie Armitage to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Paige Scholfield joined Tammy Beaumont at the crease and the duo stitched a 27-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to take their side past the 100-run mark.

Alice Tector picked up the wicket of Paige Scholfield to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Ireland. Freya Kemp joined opening batter Tammy Beaumont at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 101-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side past the 200-run mark. Jane Maguire picked up the wicket of Freya Kemp to provide the much-needed breakthrough for her side.

England lost a couple of wickets in quick succession as the home side managed to apply the brakes on the scoring rate for a few overs. Skipper Kate Cross joined Tammy Beaumont at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 51-run partnership for the 7th wicket to take their side close to the 300-run mark. Arlene Kelly picked up the wicket of the opposition skipper Kate Cross to provide the 7th breakthrough for Ireland.

England eventually ended up with a massive total of 320/8 in their quota of 50 overs. Tammy Beaumont (150* off 139 balls), Freya Kemp (65 off 47 balls), Issy Wong (15 off 8 balls), Emma Lamb (18 off 32), Maddy Villiers (14 off 11 balls), and Hollie Armitage (19 off 35 balls) were the top performers with the bat for England. Freya Sargent (10-0-60-2), Arlene Kelly (10-1-61-2), Jane Maguire (8-0-50-1), Aimee Maguire (6-0-43-1), Alice Tector (8-0-58-1), and Orla Prendergast (8-2-46-0) were the top performers with the ball for Ireland.

Chasing a massive target of 321, Ireland got off to a horrible start as they lost almost half their side inside the first four overs of the run chase. Rebecca Stokell joined opening batter Una Raymond-Hoey at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 16-run partnership for the 5th wicket. Lauren Filer struck twice in the 10th over of the run chase to further pile on the misery for the home side, courtesy of a fierce spell from England’s new-ball bowlers.

Georgia Davis cleaned up Alice Tector to provide the 7th breakthrough for England. Ireland were eventually bundled out for just 45 runs with 199 balls to spare. It was Ireland’s joint-lowest total in the ODI format. The visitors, England clinched the game and the series with a massive 275-run victory. It is also their highest margin of victory in terms of runs in the ODI format, surpassing their previous best (239-run win against Denmark).

The opening batter Una Raymond-Hoey (22 off 37 balls) was the top performer with the bat for Ireland. Lauren Filer (6-2-10-3), skipper Kate Cross (4-0-8-3), Freya Kemp (3-2-7-2), and Georgia Davis (3.5-0-19-2), were the top performers with the ball for England. Opening batter Tammy Beaumont was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational match-winning knock with the bat. She played a crucial role in helping her side seal a massive victory and a comprehensive series win.
