Perth Scorchers began their innings with Beth Mooney and Katie Mack at the crease. The opening partnership added 51 runs, providing a steady foundation before Mack was dismissed for 10 off 15 deliveries in the sixth over. Jemma Barsby made the breakthrough, with Tahlia Wilson completing the stumping. Mooney continued to hold the innings together, displaying excellent composure and rotating the strike effectively.

Sophie Devine joined Mooney and strengthened the Scorchers’ position with a valuable 85-run partnership for the second wicket. Devine scored 42 off 39 balls, including three fours and a six, before retiring out at 136 in the 16.6-over mark. With Mooney still going strong, Perth looked set for a strong finish.

Freya Kemp then changed the momentum dramatically. The left-hander unleashed an aggressive attack, smashing 30 off just 10 balls with two boundaries and three sixes. Hannah Darlington dismissed her at 176 in the 19.3-over mark, with Georgia Voll taking the catch. Mikayla Hinkley remained unbeaten on one as Mooney finished the innings on 80 off 55 deliveries, featuring eight fours and a six.
