Zimbabwe Cricket have announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies, with skipper Josephine Nkomo set to lead the hosts across three ODIs and three T20Is in Harare. The six-match assignment will begin on 24 September and conclude on 7 October, following Zimbabwe’s 5-0 T20I series defeat to South Africa earlier this month.
Nkomo will continue to captain a Zimbabwe side that has retained much of the group involved in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against South Africa. The hosts were swept 5-0 by Laura Wolvaardt’s team in Bulawayo from 11 to 19 September, but will now turn their attention to a West Indies side led by Hayley Matthews.
Experienced campaigners Nomvelo Sibanda, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Modester Mupachikwa and Sharne Mayers remain central to Zimbabwe’s plans. The selectors have also handed opportunities to Chiedza Dhururu and Olinder Chare, while making two format-specific selections for the series. Kudzai Chigora has been picked for the ODI leg only, whereas Francisca Chipare will feature exclusively in the T20Is. Loreen Tshuma is unavailable because of injury, while Lorraine Pemhiwa and Lindokuhle Mabhera have been omitted from the squad to make room for Dhururu and Chare.

The three-match ODI series forms part of the ongoing ICC Women’s Championship and will be played at Harare Sports Club. Zimbabwe’s campaign against the West Indies begins on 24 September, with the second ODI scheduled for 27 September and the third on 30 September.
The teams will then move to Takashinga Cricket Club for the three-match T20I series. The opening T20I is scheduled for 3 October, followed by the second match on 5 October and the final game on 7 October. The West Indies series represents another demanding chapter in Zimbabwe’s busy 2026 calendar.
The team has already featured in ICC Women’s Championship matches in New Zealand and Pakistan before hosting South Africa for the five-match T20I series in Bulawayo. Despite the difficult 0-5 result against South Africa, Zimbabwe will hope that home conditions and continuity within the squad can provide a stronger challenge against the Hayley Matthews-led West Indies.
