Typhoons Women produced a commanding all-round performance against Dragons Women in the third match of the Cricket Ireland Women’s Super 50 Series at Bready Cricket Club, Magheramason, on August 10, 2026. After opting to bat first, Typhoons steadily built their innings around several important partnerships before finishing with 281/8 in 50 overs. Dragons Women, despite useful contributions throughout their chase, were eventually bowled out for 198 in 42.3 overs, handing Typhoons Women an 83-run victory.
Typhoons Women began their innings with Bella Armstrong and Gaby Lewis putting together a solid opening stand. The pair negotiated the early overs well, with Armstrong scoring 49 off 45 balls, including eight boundaries, while Lewis provided the longer contribution with 63 off 64 balls, hitting five fours. Their opening partnership was worth 92 runs, giving Typhoons an excellent platform before Armstrong was dismissed by Hunter, with the score at 92 in the 14th over. Lewis continued to anchor the innings alongside Lara Maritz, but her stay ended at 63, falling to Jackson at 26.2 overs when Typhoons reached 163.
The early contributions from Armstrong and Lewis ensured that the home side had enough momentum despite losing both openers before the 30-over mark. Maritz then took responsibility for keeping the innings moving. She made a composed 43 off 53 balls, striking five fours, and added a brief but useful partnership with Laura Delany after Lewis’ departure. Maritz was eventually dismissed by Spear at 27.4 overs, with Typhoons on 168/3. Delany, however, remained at the crease and formed another important partnership with Louise Little.
Little scored 14 from 25 balls, and the pair added 42 runs before Little was bowled by McBride at 37.3 overs, leaving Typhoons at 210/4. Delany’s patience was particularly valuable as the innings moved into its final phase, where Typhoons needed to accelerate without losing too many wickets. Delany eventually departed for 40 off 53 balls, caught by Hunter off Murray at 42.2 overs, with the score at 241/5. That brought Alice Tector into the middle, and she played an important finishing role. Tector remained unbeaten on 39 from 33 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 118.18.

Their partnership produced 54 runs, taking Dragons to 119 before Hunter was caught by McGee off Armstrong at 25.2 overs. Paul’s innings ended soon after at 27, caught by McCartney off Armstrong at 27 overs, with Dragons on 122/4. Genevieve Morrissey and the lower middle order then struggled to maintain the required scoring rate. Morrissey made 14 off 29 balls before being caught by Coulter Reilly off McCartney at 27.6 overs.
