The Sophie Molineux-led Southern Brave’s unbeaten run was challenged by MI London on 27th July 2026; however, they eventually held their nerve to get over the line by 1 run in a thriller at Southampton.

The Sunrisers Leeds made one change as Kate Cross returned to the side, replacing Sophia Turner in the side. The Manchester Super Giants retained the same side that took the field in their previous clash.

The Manchester Super Giants skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Sunrisers Leeds openers Bryony Smith and Jess Jonassen got their side off to a steady start with an 18-run opening stand. An unfortunate run-out ended Jess Jonassen’s stay at the crease in the 4th set of the innings to provide the first breakthrough for the visitors.

Phoebe Litchfield joined Bryony Smith at the crease, and the duo set the platform with a much-needed 39-run stand for the 2nd wicket, which also took them past the 50-run mark. Maddy Villiers broke the stand, by sending Bryony Smith (26 off 22 balls) back to the pavilion in the 10th set of the innings to provide the crucial 2nd breakthrough for her side.

The home side posted a competitive total of 142/4 in their quota of 100 deliveries on the back of a vital 49-run stand for the 4th wicket between Annabel Sutherland (35 off 24 balls) and Lauren Winfield-Hill (17* off 13 balls) and a blockbuster finish courtesy of a quick-fire 19-run stand between skipper Danielle Gibson (18* off 6 balls) and Lauren Winfield-Hill. Phoebe Litchfield (31 off 26 balls) chipped in with a vital hand with the bat for Sunrisers Leeds.
