Sri Lanka U19 Women’s batting lineup paced their way to a total of 159 all out in their 48.5 overs. The defining anchor of the top order was Vimoksha Balasuriya, who provided immediate acceleration by smashing 62 runs off 77 deliveries, including 8 boundaries. While Nethagi Isuranjali provided excellent stability with a well-made 24 off 37 balls, the middle and lower order sustained the pressure under tough conditions.

Chamudi Praboda anchored the lower end with a solid 19 off 55 deliveries, well-supported by Limansa Thilakarathna’s quick 16 off 21 balls, Danodya Sewmini’s contribution of 11 runs off 44 balls, and Yeshali Jithara’s 8 off 25 balls. Chamodhi Herath added 6 off 11 balls, Sanjana Kavindi made 4 off 7 balls, while Sanuki Pathirage remained unbeaten on 2 runs, but Manudi Nanayakkara and Pramudi Methsara both failed to open their accounts, leaving Sri Lanka with a modest total.

India U19 Women’s bowling unit fought hard to stem the run flow and managed to pick up timely breakthroughs. Leading the line with disciplined spells was Kumari Palak, who finished with phenomenal figures of 3/13 from her 6.5 overs, and Janhavi Virkar, who picked up crucial breakthroughs to finish with 3/33 across her spell of 7 overs.

Mahak Narwase chipped in to keep things competitive during her 9 overs by picking up 2/19, while Kashvi Kandikuppa delivered a highly stable spell, conceding 27 runs in her 9-over spell with a crucial breakthrough. Nidhi Mahto picked up a steady 0/7 across 3 overs, Vidhi H Parmar chipped in with 0/21 from her 4 overs, and Anaadi Tagde completed the clinical bowling display with 0/39 from her 10 overs. Despite their consistent efforts, a fighting middle-to-lower-order stance helped Sri Lanka reach their final score.

India U19 Women faced a target of 160 runs and comfortably reached 161/2 in 18.2 overs. The pursuit was anchored beautifully by Ishwari Awasare, who scored a brisk, unbeaten 75 off 53 deliveries with 8 boundaries and 3 sixes, alongside Nidhi Mahto, who fought hard for her explosive 54 runs off 25 balls.

Kashvi Kandikuppa contributed a steady, unbeaten score of 17 off 21 balls to keep the required run rate well within sight, while Ira Jadhav struck a quick 14 off 11 balls before her dismissal. The India batters continuously turned the screws, triggering a costly bowling breakdown for the opposition that left Sri Lanka unable to push the game deep, sealing a comprehensive victory for India.

Sri Lanka U19 Women’s bowling attack tried to rise to the challenge but struggled against India’s clinical execution. Leading the defense was Chamodhi Herath, who managed to pick up a breakthrough to finish with figures of 1/26 from her 3 overs. She found tight support from Pramudi Methsara, who delivered an exceptionally effective spell of 1/20 across her 3 overs to keep the opposition under pressure.

Danodya Sewmini kept things tight with an effective spell of 0/18 in her 3 overs, while Sanuki Pathirage conceded 11 runs in her 1.2-over spell. Limansa Thilakarathna gave away 13 runs from her single over, Yeshali Jithara conceded 29 runs from her 3 overs, and Chamudi Praboda completed the team effort by giving away 44 runs from her 4 overs during a challenging outing.

For India, everything clicked in the field as their disciplined bowling chokehold, led by Kumari Palak and Janhavi Virkar, was perfectly complemented by tight bowling to restrict a dangerous lineup; they backed it up with critical batting contributions from Ishwari Awasare and Nidhi Mahto later in the day.

Conversely, Sri Lanka’s bowling defense collapsed under the weight of a rapid scoring rate and clinical India execution, meaning that despite a fighting batting contribution in the first innings, the hosts failed to cross the line.
