WBBL 12 Schedule Announced: Full Fixtures, Dates and Venues for Women’s Big Bash League 2026

Cricket Australia has unveiled the full schedule for the 12th edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL 12), with the tournament set to run from October 29 to December 5, 2026. Spanning 43 matches across 38 days, the competition will once again feature Australia’s eight franchise teams, with defending champions Hobart Hurricanes beginning their title defence as they look to retain the crown won last season.

The new season will commence with a double-header at Junction Oval in Melbourne on October 29. The Melbourne Renegades will take on the Sydney Thunder in the tournament opener before the Melbourne Stars face the Hurricanes in the second game of the day. The evening fixture will also mark the first WBBL match to be played under permanent floodlights at Junction Oval.

All eight teams — Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder will each play ten league-stage matches before the top four sides qualify for the finals.

The schedule sees clubs return to their home venues early in the competition, with seven teams hosting matches during the opening weekend. The Hurricanes will play their first home fixture at Ninja Stadium on November 4 against the Renegades, while Adelaide Strikers will once again take a marquee match to Adelaide Oval, hosting the Renegades under lights on November 20.

Traditional rivalries also remain a major feature of the calendar. The Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades will contest both Melbourne derbies at Junction Oval, while the Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder will meet twice in the Sydney Smash, with fixtures scheduled at North Sydney Oval and Drummoyne Oval.

The regular season concludes on November 29 with a double-header in Adelaide before the competition moves into its three-match finals series. The third and fourth-placed teams will contest the Knockout on December 1, with the winner progressing to face the second-placed side in the Challenger on December 3. The team finishing at the top of the standings will earn hosting rights for the WBBL 12 Final on December 5.

Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, Alistair Dobson, said the fixture had been designed to give fans greater access to matches while strengthening each club’s presence in its home market. “With more games played across Thursday to Sunday as well as an increase in afternoon and evening time slots, we can’t wait to see our fans in iconic WBBL venues around the country enjoying the very best of the Big Bash.”

Dobson also highlighted the competition’s growing television audience, with more matches scheduled during prime viewing hours this season. “We’re up to more than 55 percent of matches in prime time. We had great growth in our TV audiences last year and that’s underpinned by prime time WBBL, so there’s more of that than ever before.”

He added that reducing neutral venues had remained a key objective while finalising the schedule. “This year again we’ve focused on trying to get each club into their home market more often, particularly in that first week. That’s not always been the case in WBBL with some neutral games.”

Every match of the tournament will be available live on Kayo Sports and Foxtel, while 20 regular-season fixtures and all three finals will also be broadcast live and free on Seven and 7plus. The remaining league-stage matches will air exclusively on Fox Cricket.
