Bangladesh Women’s Cricket led by Salma Khatun has grown much over the years, their hard work and competitive spirit are commendable. The upcoming T20 World cup will be an amazing opportunity to showcase its potential.
Salma Khatun lead Bangladesh squad will take off to Australia tomorrow i.e on 2nd February. Prior to the world cup, they will have a 12-day practice camp in Gold Coast.
“We’re hoping to play smart cricket in the World Cup as well as confident to win at least two games in the event,” Salma told the media at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur during the official photo session on Thursday.
Bangladesh will share the pool along with nations like India, Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. “Teams like Australia and New Zealand are really tough. They’re strong, but we’re going to show a smart cricket,” Salma added.
Romana Ahmed, one of the best women cricketers of the country, believes that they have the quality to compete against Australia and New Zealand. “If we can win against India in the first match, the remaining competitors will be easy for us,” she added.
Bangladesh will lock horns against India in their opening game at WACA ground in Perth on February 24.
