Who Is Rabeya Khan? Bangladesh Career Stats, Records and Milestones

Rabeya Khan has emerged as one of Bangladesh women’s cricket’s most promising young spin-bowling all-rounders, combining attacking leg-spin with sharp fielding and improving lower-order batting. Born in Barisal, Rabeya rose through Bangladesh’s age-group system and quickly established herself as a bowler capable of making an impact in T20 cricket through control, variations, and wicket-taking ability.

She earned her maiden Bangladesh call-up during the 2019 South Asian Games and made an immediate impression on debut against Nepal, producing remarkable figures of 4 for 8 and winning the Player of the Match award. Those figures remain among the best bowling performances by a Bangladeshi bowler on WT20I debut.

Rabeya continued progressing through Bangladesh’s national and emerging pathways, featuring for Bangladesh Women Under-19s and Bangladesh Women Emerging Players while steadily becoming a regular part of the senior setup. She was also included in Bangladesh’s squads for major ICC tournaments, including the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup and the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifier.

Rabeya Khan’s International Career

Rabeya has already developed into one of Bangladesh’s key spin options in white-ball cricket despite being only 21. In T20Is, she has played 45 matches and taken 47 wickets at an average of 17.55 and an impressive economy rate of 5.49, underlining her ability to both control scoring and pick up wickets regularly. Her best T20I figures remain 4 for 8. With the bat, she has scored 126 runs in T20Is while often contributing useful lower-order runs.

Her bowling has already produced several notable performances. During Bangladesh’s historic ODI series win over India in 2023, Rabeya picked up 3 for 30 in the opening ODI and played an important role in Bangladesh’s upset victory. She has also contributed strongly in overseas conditions, including disciplined spells during Bangladesh’s tour of the West Indies in 2025.

One of Rabeya’s biggest strengths is her temperament. Despite her young age, she bowls with confidence in pressure situations and is willing to attack batters rather than simply contain. Her leg spin gives Bangladesh an attacking wicket-taking option in the middle overs which is a valuable asset in T20 cricket where breakthroughs often decide matches.

English conditions during the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup could suit her style of bowling. On slower surfaces, wrist-spinners who vary pace effectively and attack the stumps can become difficult to score against. At just 21, Rabeya already represents an important part of Bangladesh’s next generation. With experience from global tournaments, strong T20I numbers, and growing confidence at international level, she enters the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup as one of Bangladesh’s most exciting young match-winners.
