Muneeba Ali is one of the most important players in the Pakistan women’s cricket team. She grew up in Karachi and loved playing many sports during her childhood, but cricket became her favourite game while playing in the streets with boys in her locality. Her love for the game helped her become one of Pakistan’s top batters in women’s cricket.
Muneeba started playing domestic cricket at a very young age. She made her T20 debut for Balochistan when she was only 14 years old. Because of her strong performances, she got a chance to play for Pakistan at the age of 18. Over the years, she worked very hard on her batting and became a regular opener for Pakistan. She is known for playing attacking shots and giving quick starts to the team at the top of the order.
Muneeba Ali’s T20I Career
Muneeba made her T20I debut for Pakistan against West Indies during the 2016 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Chennai. After getting chances in the national team, she improved her game and became one of Pakistan’s most successful batters in the format.
She has played 86 WT20I matches and scored 1531 runs, with the highest score of 102. She has also scored two centuries and two half-centuries in the format. One of the biggest moments of her career came during the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa, where she scored 102 runs against Ireland and became the first Pakistan woman cricketer to score a T20I century.
Her century also made her only the sixth player to score a hundred in the history of the Women’s T20 World Cup. After that innings, she received praise from cricket fans and former players around the world. She has been an important player for Pakistan in many ICC tournaments, including the 2018, 2020, 2023 and 2024 Women’s T20 World Cups. She was also part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Muneeba Ali has continued to play an important role for Pakistan in 2026. During the recent T20I series against Zimbabwe, she scored useful runs, including innings of 36 and 22. Though she hasn’t looked at her best with the bat, she will be back to find her footing. With her experience, attacking batting and confidence at the top order, she will again be one of Pakistan’s key players in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
