Georgia Plimmer is one of the young batters in New Zealand women’s cricket. She was born in Wellington and started playing cricket from a young age. She studied at Tawa College, the same school that produced players like Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr and Jess Kerr. Before cricket, she also played softball but later decided to focus only on cricket.

Plimmer started her domestic career with Wellington Women. She made her List A debut in the 2019-20 season and played her first T20 match in the 2020-21 Super Smash. Her good performances in domestic cricket helped her get a place in the New Zealand team at a young age.

She first joined the New Zealand squad in 2022 as a replacement player during the Women’s ODI World Cup. Later that year, she made her international debut at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Since then, she has become an important part of New Zealand’s batting group.

Georgia Plimmer T20I Career

Plimmer has played 50 WT20I matches for New Zealand and scored 649 runs at a strike rate of 106.21. She has scored three half-centuries, with her highest score being 63. She usually bats in the top or middle order and likes to play attacking cricket.

One of the biggest moments of her career came during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, where she helped New Zealand win their first Women’s T20 World Cup title. She scored 150 runs in the tournament and gave the team good starts in many matches.

Plimmer still plays domestic cricket for Wellington Women and has become one of their important batters.
