The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has officially announced the schedule for the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League 2026. All matches across both competitions will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, with the women’s final scheduled for June 13 at 2 PM, ahead of the men’s final later that evening. The inaugural women’s competition will feature three franchises: SoBo Mumbai Falcons, Thane Sky Risers and Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs with each side playing the others twice in the league stage before the top two teams advance to the final.

The tournament is expected to showcase several of Mumbai’s most exciting women cricketers, including Sayali Satghare, Saima Thakor, Humairaa Kaazi, Simran Shaikh, Sanika Chalke and Vrushali Bhagat, alongside teenage batting sensation Ira Jadhav, who has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the domestic circuit.

By launching the women’s league alongside the men’s competition, the MCA hopes to create greater visibility and opportunities for women’s cricket while also giving young players a high-quality professional environment with television exposure and large crowds at one of India’s most iconic venues.

MCA president Ajinkya Naik said the simultaneous staging of the two tournaments would help strengthen Mumbai’s overall cricketing ecosystem.

“The announcement of the fixtures sets the stage for what promises to be a world-class cricketing spectacle at the Wankhede Stadium. The league will bring together some of the finest players in the game alongside Mumbai’s emerging talent, giving young cricketers a valuable opportunity to compete and share the stage with established stars,” Naik said. “At the same time, fans can look forward to two weeks of high-quality and exciting cricket as we continue to strengthen Mumbai’s cricketing ecosystem through both the men’s and women’s competitions,” he added.

The T20 Mumbai League has steadily established itself as one of India’s strongest domestic franchise-based T20 tournaments since its launch in 2018, producing several players who have gone on to feature in the IPL, domestic cricket and even the national team. The addition of a dedicated women’s tournament is being viewed as another important milestone in Mumbai cricket’s development structure.

League Governing Council chairman Rajdip Gupta said the tournament would provide a valuable platform for both experienced and emerging cricketers. “With 30 matches scheduled across the men’s and women’s competitions, the fixtures set the stage for an exciting and competitive season at the Wankhede Stadium. With a strong mix of experienced players and emerging talent, the league will continue to provide young cricketers with valuable exposure and an important platform for development,” Gupta said. “Fans can expect high-intensity cricket and several exciting contests throughout the tournament,” he added.

All matches from the women’s competition will be telecast live on Star Sports and streamed on JioHotstar, significantly expanding the tournament’s reach and offering players important national exposure early in their careers.
