Cricket West Indies has confirmed a high-profile women’s white-ball series against Australia, with six matches scheduled across St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Kitts and Nevis in March and April 2026. The tour will feature three T20 Internationals (T20I) followed by three One-Day Internationals (ODI), marking one of the most significant bilateral series hosted by the Caribbean in the current women’s international cycle.

The series will see the world’s top-ranked side travel to the Caribbean to face the West Indies women, providing the hosts with a sustained run of high-intensity matches against the benchmark team in women’s cricket. For West Indies, the series is an important part of their preparation in a year dominated by limited-overs priorities, while for Australia it forms part of a packed international calendar as they continue to set standards across formats.
The opening T20I leg will be played in St Vincent, with all three matches hosted at Arnos Vale Stadium. The venue will stage internationals on March 19, 21 and 23, offering local fans a rare opportunity to watch Australia’s women in action. The series will then shift to St Kitts, where Warner Park will host the three ODIs on March 27, March 29 and April 2. All matches are scheduled as day games, with free entry announced to encourage strong crowd attendance and grassroots engagement.
The structure of the tour highlights a clear emphasis on white-ball cricket. Although early planning for the series included discussions around a one-off women’s Test match, the final itinerary does not include a red-ball fixture. The proposed Test, which would have been the West Indies Women’s first since 2004 and a rare red-ball meeting with Australia, was ultimately scrapped in favour of concentrating exclusively on limited-overs formats. The decision reflects the current realities of women’s international scheduling, where T20Is and ODIs dominate preparation pathways and commercial planning.
The absence of a Test means that West Indies’ long gap from the longest format will continue, delaying what would have been a significant historical moment for the team. However, the six white-ball matches still represent a substantial workload and a valuable competitive platform. With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup approaching later in the year, the series allows both teams to focus on combinations, tactical clarity and match fitness in the formats that will define their immediate objectives.
From a competitive standpoint, the series offers contrasting challenges. Australia arrive as the dominant force boasting depth in both batting and bowling across formats as seen in the ongoing series against India. West Indies, meanwhile, will look to leverage home conditions, particularly in the T20Is, where shorter games can compress gaps between teams. The ODI leg provides an extended test of consistency and adaptability, especially against an Australian side known for sustained pressure and disciplined execution.
